Mediation Engineer

Job Description:

Support Solaris System and Oracle Database Administration.

Develop tools and monitoring scripts using Perl and Unix Scripts.

Develop/Support multi thread applicationsusing OOP Languages such as

Java, C ,.NET and Perl as well as IN Applications.

Perform integration and acceptance tests, produce test documents as

well as upgrade/load approved patches and fixes.

Implement change request/planned work on platforms using established

Change Management procedures.

Monitor systems and applications on site and resolve all subscriber problems.

Log, analyze, resolve and escalate faults on the platforms.

Upgrade/load approved patches and fixes and undertake software and

hardware installation across MTNN and ensure strictadherence to ITIL

best practices.

Ensure systems security by:

oCarrying out regular file system and database backups

oLogging of all activities on platforms

oRegulating access to systems and ensuring confidentiality of information

Conduct monthly routine preventive maintenance.

Job Conditions: Normal MTNN working conditions May be required to work

extended hours After hours overtime and callout when necessary

Reporting To: Wholesale Billing & Mediation Manager

Required Skills:

B.Sc.or HND Electrical,Electronics,Computer Engineering , Computer Science

Unix,Oracle.ITIL,Java Certifications

Four 4 years relevant work experience including

2 to 3 years hands-on experience in Solaris System Administration,

Applications Development and Oracle Database Administration

Hands on experience in Applications support

Good understanding of GSM Value Added Services
